Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions people search for most about making 3D models with AI, for free, and what you can do with the results.
What is Vi3W in one paragraph?
Vi3W is a browser-based AI 3D editor. You give it a text prompt, a sketch or a photo, and it generates a textured, retopologised 3D model that you can export as glTF, FBX or OBJ for Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot or the web. There is a free plan, and nothing to install.

Questions people actually ask
How to make 3D for free?
Two good routes. Blender is free and open source, and lets you model anything by hand if you are willing to learn it. If you want a model quickly from a description, a sketch or a photo, use the free plan of an AI 3D generator: Vi3W's free plan includes monthly credits, runs in the browser and exports standard glTF, FBX or OBJ files.
What is the best free AI website for 3D design?
The best one is the one whose output you can actually use. Compare free plans on what they export, not on their demo renders: check the mesh topology, whether textures are included, the file formats and whether free outputs can be used commercially. Vi3W's free plan generates from text, sketches or photos, retopologises every model and exports glTF, FBX or OBJ.
Where can I 3D model for free?
In Blender, which is free on Windows, macOS and Linux, or in a browser. Browser tools need no install: Vi3W runs in Chrome, Firefox or Edge and generates models for you, which you can then refine in Blender. Many artists combine the two, generating a first draft and finishing it by hand.
Can I legally use free 3D models?
Usually yes, but only under the licence each model comes with. Free models from marketplaces often restrict commercial use or require credit, so read the licence before shipping one. For models you generate in Vi3W, our Content & IP policy lets you download, edit, sell and use them commercially, subject to the conditions it lists, such as third-party rights in your inputs.
Is it illegal to sell 3D prints?
No. Selling 3D prints is legal. What can make it illegal is the design: printing someone else's copyrighted character, trademark or a model whose licence forbids commercial use. Print designs you made or have the rights to sell. This is general information, not legal advice; for a specific product, check the licence or ask a lawyer.
Is there a free 3D modeling app?
Yes. Blender is the best-known free 3D modelling app and covers modelling, sculpting, texturing and rendering. For AI generation without installing anything, Vi3W has a free plan in the browser: generate a model from text, a sketch or a photo, then open it in Blender to keep working.
What is Nano Banana?
Nano Banana is the popular nickname for Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, an AI image generator and editor. It went viral for turning photos into pictures of collectible 3D figurines. Those results are images, not 3D models. To get a real model from such an image, run it through an image-to-3D generator.
